The Shirley M. Hufstedler School of Education offers a full spectrum of credential and certificate programs designed to address the educational needs of all levels of 21st-century learners, from school entry to adult life. Programs integrate psychological concepts into coursework and focus on successful strategies for diverse populations.
HSOE CREDENTIALING PROGRAMS
Our credentialing programs are approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC). We offer preparation for the following credentials:
- Preliminary Teaching Credential, Multiple Subject
- Preliminary Teaching Credential, Single Subject
- Intern Teaching Credential, Multiple Subject
- Intern Teaching Credential, Single Subject
- Preliminary BCLAD Teaching Credential, Multiple Subject: Spanish
- Pupil Personnel Services (PPS): School Psychology
- Preliminary Administrative Services
- Educational Specialist Intern Preliminary Credential (mild/moderate disabilities)
- Education Specialist Clear Credential (mild/moderate disabilities)
- Autism Spectrum Disorders Authorization
- California Teachers of English Language Certificate

EARN A CREDENTIAL WHILE YOU EARN YOUR DEGREE
All HSOE credential programs are embedded within our Master of Arts in Education (MAE) degree programs, which means you can earn a credential and your master's at the same time.
